AFROFEST
The first and most impactful flagship event we hold in the year is known as Afrofest. While starting off as a talent show it has evolved over the years into the current biggest Afro-Caribbean production across the Midlands universities, showcasing the diaspora through student written stories.

The challenges and successes of the Afro-diasporic community are directly addressed and exhibited, with awareness of cultural, economic and social issues being raised through an array of art forms and mixed media, from dance to drama, spoken world, choir, fashion, band and more.

This year's Afrofest focuses on the concept of Sonder, the feeling one has on realising that every other individual one sees has a life as full and real as one's own, in which they are the central character and others, including oneself, have secondary or insignificant roles. We aim to break down monoliths that are perpetuated through our communities, and showcase the beauty of each and every individual. While a community in name, each and every person has their own hardships, triumphs and identity, and we aim to celebrate and uplift every member of our ACS and inspire others with our production.

Following the main production we'll continue the celebration with an after-party featuring a talented DJ and live performances from both rising and renowned artists.
