Tom Barnes is an Applied Researcher at Founders Pledge, a community of 1,900 tech founders who have pledged over $10 billion to charitable causes. He leads the organization's AI safety grantmaking. In 2024, Tom seconded to the UK government, providing expertise in AI risk assessment and preparedness. He previously studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Warwick.
