What’s an Annual Student Members' Meeting and why is it happening?

AMM stands for Annual Student Members’ Meeting. It’s a chance for all of our members to hear about progress and updates from the previous academic year of our Students’ Union. As members of Warwick Students’ Union, every student at the University of Warwick is invited and encouraged to attend.

As an incorporated charity, we are required to have an AMM - which is a great bonus, as it’s yet another opportunity for you to be involved in our decision-making. The Annual Report and Financial Statements will be  presented at the AMM and student members attending can ask questions. Officer Trustees of our Students’ Union will be present to answer any queries you have and to comment on the overall performance of the Students’ Union.

Our annual vote to reconfirm our membership of the National Union of Students (NUS), as well as affiliations with other organisations, will also take place at the AMM. If students vote yes, we’ll continue to be affiliated with the NUS. If students attending the AMM vote no, then the decision goes to a campus-wide referendum, so that all of our members can have a say.

Why should I come along?

If you’ve ever felt uncertain about exactly what your SU does or what it’s here for, then the AMM is an excellent opportunity for you to understand the breadth of work that our SU undertakes in order to make life better for students at the University of Warwick. It’s also a valuable chance to give feedback and ask questions about our work, so you can help to shape the future decisions our Students’ Union makes.
