My role and what I hope to achieve this year:
Hi I'm Willow and in 26-27 I'm hoping to make the SU gay again!!! I love all things gaming, art and reading and I'm hoping to introduce LGBTQUIA+ only housing options, and work with the community to make a pride month that represents all of us.
This year, my biggest goal is to make sure our campus is a place where LGBTQUIA+ students don't just survive, but genuinely love being part of our community.
First up, I’m tackling accommodation and spaces head-on. I'm lobbying the University for dedicated queer spaces, including pushing for Queer-Only housing options for first-years. I’ll also be holding the University's feet to the fire to get clear, easy-to-find info published on Trans* student services, while fighting back against any harmful or discriminatory policies.
Community is everything, so I’m setting up regular drop-in sessions to hear what you have to say and make sure your voices are front and centre. Plus, I am so excited to collaborate with Liberation Societies to co-create a student-led Queer Conference for Pride Month, and to cheer on and support our incredible student leaders as they plan an unforgettable Pride Festival 2027!
