The WarwickSU Steering Group oversees Union democratic policy processes, managing motions for the Student Council and All-Student Votes. They organize and publicize democratic campaigns and provide guidance to students on policy proposals and democratic ideas. Students are encouraged to contact the Forum chair or attend meetings.

Steering Group

Every Forum is made up of dedicated students elected by YOU and each Forum has a specific focus.

Do you have a question about a democratic campaign? Are you formulating an idea concerning democracy and need thoughts? Is there a policy proposal you would like advice on? Steering Group are here to help you! Get in touch with the Forum chair or observe our next Forum meeting!

Who we are

Steering Group is the driving force behind the Unions democratic functions. We are made up of 11 elected voting members, representing a cross section of our student community and passionate group who care about democratic integrity, fair processes and ensuring SU policies are shaped by student for students.

The VP for Democracy and Development joins the team as a non-voting member but offers insight, support and strategic guidance.

As per the SU Bye-laws, all Steering Group members are formally recognised as SU Forum Members, three of whom are selected to serve as representatives on Student Council.
