The WarwickSU Sports Forum is a student-led group dedicated to promoting active lifestyles and enhancing sports clubs. The Sports Forum will aid development of existing clubs, highlight new and exciting opportunities for students to engage in sport both on and off campus.

Who we are 

Sports Forum is the engine room of student sport and is comprised of a democratically elected group of students who are united by a shared passion for physical activity and commitment to taking direct action to enhance the student experience within sport. Their ideas, energy and ambition to transform the future of sport at the University of Warwick - ranging from rock up and play sessions to national competitions - Sports Forum represents all students, no matter their sporting expertise.  

It is made up of 11 voting student members and the VP Sports participates as a non-voting member. They play an active role in providing the forum with guidance and support, leveraging their knowledge of Warwick Sport, BUCS and student insight into sport to help connect the work of the forum to the wider SU. They deliver strong outcomes for students all year round keeps sport at the centre of decision‑making and a priority talking point. 

What we do 

The Sports Forum exists to grow, improve, and re‑imagine student sport by: 

  • Supporting the development of existing sports clubs 

  • Championing new and exciting ways for students to get involved in sport 

  • Opening up opportunities to be active, both on and off campus 

  • Helping shape the future of student sport across the university 

  • Whether you’re competitive, casual, or just curious, the Sports Forum works to make sport more accessible, inclusive and exciting for all students. 

General guidance and principles 

Sports forum operates under the following principles: 

  • Quorum shall be 50%, plus one of the voting members. 

  • Meetings should be held at least once during each term. 

  • After the election of all voting members, the Sports Forum should elect a Chair at the first meeting of the Forum and will work with the student voice team to set the meeting agenda and keep discussions on track. 

  • The Chair can be elected via co-option within the meeting, via an online form circulated to Forum members, or similar. 

  • Forum meetings can be delivered in-person, online and/or hybrid. 

  • Advisory and administrative support will be provided by a Clubs team member and a Student Voice Coordinator.
