The WarwickSU Operations Forum consists of elected students who represent student interests regarding commercial services, events, and socials. Their goal is to ensure best value for students and manage funding pots, including the SU Projects Fund. Students are encouraged to contact the chair or observe upcoming forum meetings.

The core function of the Operations Forum will be to work alongside our services to provide the best value for students and representation on events/activities and socials within the commercial space of the Union.

Who we are 

Operations Forum is where student experience meets delivery as a group of democratically elected students make sure student union services, events and commercial spaces offer value for students and reflect what students want from their Union.   The forum is made up of 11 voting student members, making sure voices from across the student community are at the table and the forefront of discussions.  The VP for Democracy and Development also has a seat at the table as a non-voting member and plays an active role in providing the forum with guidance and support. They use their knowledge of the student experience and internal SU governance, along with the stakeholder relationships they build across University committees, to help connect the work of the forum to the wider SU. 

What we do  

The Operations Forum exists to make sure the Union works better for students by:  

  • Working closely with Union services to improve value for students  

  • Shaping events, activities, and socials in Union commercial spaces  

  • Making sure student voices influence how services are run  

  • Supporting projects that improve the student experience  

  • Oversees funding SU Projects Fund

General guidance and principles  

Operations forum operates under the following principles:  

  • Quorum shall be 50%, plus one of the voting members.  

  • Meetings should be held at least once during each term.  

  • After the election of all voting members, the Operations Forum should elect a Chair at the first meeting of the Forum and will work with the student voice team to set the meeting agenda and keep discussions on track.  

  • The Chair can be elected via co-option within the meeting, via an online form circulated to Forum members, or similar.  

  • Forum meetings can be delivered in-person, online and/or hybrid.  

  • Advisory and administrative support will be provided by an operations team member and a Student Voice Coordinator.
