The Liberation and Diversity Forum at WarwickSU consists of elected students dedicated to supporting marginalised groups and leading liberatory campaigns. It provides a safe environment for student representation and serves as a coordination platform for Part-Time Officers to ensure effective advocacy and discussion across the student union.

Who are we

Liberation & Diversity Forum is the voice, backbone and platform for liberation across the SU. The forum brings together elected Part-Time elected student officers who represent communities that are too often unheard, making sure lived experience shapes decisions, campaigns, and change across the Union.

The forum is made up of the following voting members, each representing a key liberation or student community:

  • Widening Participation Officer

  • LGBTQUIA+ Officer

  • Trans Students’ Officer

  • Women’s Officer

  • Disabled Students’ Officer

  • Ethnic Minorities Officer

  • Part-Time & Mature Students’ Officer

  • Environment & Ethics Officer

  • International Students’ Officer (EU)

  • International Students’ Officer (non-EU)

As Part-Time Officers, they are elected on a clear mandate and influence, meaning the work they do has real weight and makes a difference to the student experience. Every Part-Time Officer is also a voting member of Student Council, ensuring liberation voices are embedded at the highest level of student decision-making and democratic structures

What we do

The Liberation & Diversity Forum exists to create safer spaces, stronger representation and real change by:

  • Providing a safe and supportive space for students and officers to raise issues

  • Leading and delivering liberation-focused campaigns across the Union

  • Representing students with lived experience at every level

  • Coordinating, collaborating, and strengthening the work of Part-Time Officers

Moreover, the liberation and diversity forum is where conversations turn into collective action, ensuring liberation, equity, and inclusion are not side-lined issues, but central to how the Students’ Union works and operates.

General guidance and principles
