The CGI is masterfully utilised to pay homage to fan-made stop-motion Lego ‘brickfilms’, a creatively refreshing choice amongst a sea of peak 2010s animation. A critique on capitalism, The Lego Movie is the inspiring story of the homunculus Emmet Brickowski as he learns to defy the instruction manual.
