Warwick Student Cinema: The Lego Movie

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Sunday 11 January 2026, 6.30PM - Sunday 11 January 2026, 8.30PM

L3

Come see The Lego Movie presented with stunning 4k laser projection on the big screen in L3!

"Everything is Awesome”, strong religious undertones, and a cat poster saying ‘believe!’. The Lego Movie is a sensational piece of media, a wildly entertaining children’s film that overreaches into four star territory. The CGI is masterfully utilised to pay homage to fan-made stop-motion Lego ‘brickfilms’, a creatively refreshing choice amongst a sea of peak 2010s animation. A critique on capitalism, The Lego Movie is the inspiring story of the homunculus Emmet Brickowski as he learns to defy the instruction manual. The success and popularity it gained sparked further endeavours in the Lego universe, with The Lego Batman Movie releasing three years later, just as funny and impactful as its predecessor. [Holly Beaumont]
