Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden. Need I say more? I feel so nostalgic toward this film, it’s joyful, vibrant and it’ll make you giggle. It mixes classic Disney prince-meets-princess whimsey with the reality of life in New York City. I remember being in shock when this movie shifts from animated to live action and to be honest I still love it to this day. The premise for this film is so fun and original and just so charmingly executed from the music and casting to the costume design and scenery. And while this film playfully mocks fairy tales, it also shows that sometimes your prince charming is a middle aged divorced lawyer with a deeply pessimistic world view, and that’s okay (especially if he looks like Patrick demisey).
