Warwick Student Cinema: The Exorcist (35mm) - Late

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Friday 31 October 2025, 9.30PM - Friday 31 October 2025, 11.30PM

L3

Come see The Exorcist presented with 35mm Projection on the big screen in L3!

If you grew up with the Scary Maze Game and wondered who that horrifying little lady at the ending screen was, you’re in luck! For horror newbies, The Exorcist proves to be equally feverish, scary and randomly funny. Still, it gives me quite a few jumps every time. A 1970s classic, it shies away from random jump scares, and instead shocks you with how absurdly horrific it can get.

It starts as many horror movies do today: with a girl (Linda Blair) playing with a Ouija board, because she doesn’t know any better. Soon enough, erratic behaviour leads to two priests rushing to absolve the poor girl of whichever spirits lay inside her. As a horror buff, this is one of the classics that has invariably stayed with me – the brilliance in The Exorcistlies in how innately haunting it feels, especially towards its end. I won't explain any further — see for yourself!

While I always saw The Exorcist on my iPad mini, I do believe I’ll be one of many rushing to see it on the big screen this autumn term. [Naomi Pandey]
