The University of Warwick 1st Congress BCC Qualifier is an official ECF and FIDE rated chess tournament located at the University of Warwick, taking place over two days - Saturday 28th of February and Sunday 1st of March. The winner of the Open section will qualify for the 2026 British Championship (official regulations). It is a 5-rounds swiss tournament played over two days with a time control of 60+30. There are 3 sections: Minor (U1500), Major (U1850), and the Open. DGT boards will be available.

Entry

The entry fee for a regular entrant is £30. Players with a title of GM, WGM, IM, WIM will be exempt from paying the entry fee; FM, WFM receive a 50% discount.
