Warwick Fencing Sabre Novices Competition (Men's Entries)

Event from Fencing

Sunday 13 February 2022, 8.00AM - Sunday 13 February 2022, 6.00PM

Sports and Wellness Hub, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7EU

The Warwick Sabre Novices Competition 2022 is a fun, friendly novice level sabre competition for novice (*See below for criterion) fencers. We will run a Men's Competition and a Women's competition, both of which will run on Sunday 13th February. It's a great oppertunity to get more experience fencing in a friendly environment and learn more about how fencing works.

Registration for the Men's competition will open at approximately 8:30-9:00 (Check this page, our social media, or your emails for a more exact time closer to the date!). Fencing will commence shortly after. The Women's competition will open later in the morning. All fencing will finish by approximately 17:00, with a short presentation at the end. Exact timetable and format for the day TBD.

The competition will take place at the Warwick University Sports Hub (Sports and Wellness Hub, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7EU). Parking will be available on site.

We look forward to seeing you for a fun day of competing!

Note: This page is for Men's Entires ONLY. For Women's entries, see https://www.warwicksu.com/events/4019/22324/

*Anyone who has had up to 2 full years of training in any weapon (not including training this academic year) will be eligible to compete. Note that partial training due to Covid counts towards this (though only up to the amount of training that took place). For example, a fencer who has had one full year of training before Covid and half a regular year's worth during Covid would be allowed to compete; but someone who has had two uninterupted years of training plus a partial training during Covid would not be allowed. Please use your descretion and remember that this is a competition is aimed at novices, and the standard of any fencers attending should be such.
