Climbing International Tour 2026

Event from Climbing

Saturday 21 March 2026, 12.00AM - Monday 30 March 2026, 10.00PM

El Chorro, Spain

The Warwick University Climbing Club's tour is a long-running club tradition taking place in the first 10 days of the Easter break. It involves bringing a cohort of climbers to a world class climbing destination in Europe, and is an essential part of the club's calendar, giving those who have recently become members an opportunity to integrate more into the community.

This year, we are heading to the south of Spain and El Chorro, one of the most famous climbing destinations in Europe!! Attendess will be accommodated across the Olive Branch and Finca la Campana guesthouses just outside the town, with larger shops being done into the town of Alora with hire cars. We aim to provide members with a variety of climbing across a range of difficulties, so there is something for everyone.

Since on this trip exec members may not always be on hand to supervise climbers, tour is targeted at members of the club who have passed their competency tests in both top rope and lead climbing, which they should have been signed off for in terms one and two respectively. If you do not know how to lead yet, dont worry, we will be holding lessons in Term 2!

Additionally, it is required that participants have been on at least one of the club's outdoor lead weekend trips, where there is exec supervision, in order to ensure that they can climb outdoors competently and independently. Again, there will be plenty of options for these in Term 2. The trip also has two planned social events, a cocktail night and a BBQ night, in which vegetarian / vegan options and non-alocohlic options  will be catered for. We are super excited as we are every year to host one of the biggest events on the clubs calender :)

Know how to competently lead / sport climb. (Again, lessons in Term 2)

Own your own Harness, belay device, sling and 2 locking carribeaners.
