Rate

£8.41 per hour with a 16 week probationary period.

Hours

You will be expected to work an average of 2 shifts a week (an average of 10-12 hours a week) throughout term time; you have to be available to work 8 out of the 10 Wednesday nights in terms 1 & 2, please read on for more details

Interview

An Assessment Centre will be held on Friday 10th June from 1pm to 3pm. You must be able to attend on this date if you are short listed.

Details

You will be expected to work an average of 2 shifts a week (average of 10-12 hours a week) throughout term time, however we cannot guarantee these hours; you have to be available to work 8 out of the 10 Wednesday nights (shifts usually 18:30-2:15) throughout terms 1 and term 2, and then usually a Friday or Saturday night (shifts usually 21:30-2:15). Shifts in the Terrace bar are available throughout the week between 11:30am to 3:00am, but are mostly evenings.

Please note: these positions are for the Academic year 2016/2017, but you must be available for shifts from Week 9 onwards, to enable you to gain experience in the position and ensure you are fully trained ready for the start of the next academic year.

You will be working in both The Copper Rooms and the Terrace Bar and will be required to direct a team of bar staff to ensure a high standard of service is provided to customers, drinks are served in an efficient manner and a safe, clean working environment is maintained

Your role will be:

  • To lead a successful team in the Venue department
  • To work closely with supervisors to run an efficient shift
  • To provide a high standard of service to customers, serve drinks and maintain a safe and clean working environment.

You should have: -

  • High standards of customer care
  • Experience of a customer facing / food and beverage environment
  • Experience in training and motivating staff
  • Working knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene practices
  • Experience in cash handling
