SU HQ Meeting Room 2
We know that it is often easier for a victim of hate crime to seek support from their peers, so we’re offering training for anyone who would like to understand how to best support someone who has experienced hate crime or incidents of hate.
A hate incident is any incident which is perceived by the victim (or any other person) to be motivated by prejudice against someone’s sex, racial heritage, religion, disability, sexual orientation or trans identity.
The training we’re offering includes:
-
How to respond to a disclosure from your peers, including disclosures relating to hate crime and sexual violence.*
-
How to support someone if they wish to formally report a hate crime or hate incident.**
Join us for the training on Wednesday of week 1 (October 2nd), 2-3:30pm in SU HQ’s Meeting Room 2. All are welcome to attend - contact the SU’s Campaigns & Liberation Adviser via sam.parr@warwicksu.com to confirm your attendance.
To find out more about how we’re responding to hate crime and hate incidents, check out our Tackle Hate campaign.
*This session will be delivered by SU facilitators.
**This session will be delivered by West Midland Police's anti-social behaviour lead for the local area.
