The University of Warwick Archery Club is an informal club providing a friendly atmosphere for its members to meet, socialise and shoot together.
We cater for all levels of experience (including beginners) and you can join at any time*; we provide coaching, a bow, some arrows and any other equipment you need free of charge once you join the club. We also cater for experienced archers, and have enjoyed regular success at county, regional and national level competitions. After practice we have regular trips to the pub together, as well as a variety of other socials including fortnightly circling at the union and other non drinking socials.
The quickest and easiest way to join is to turn up at the sports fair in Welcome Week and find our stand. You can also join us if you turn up to one of our sessions and find an exec member, who will be wearing an archery club t-shirt.
*If you haven't been a member of an archery club before, you'll need to complete one of our Beginners' Courses. This is because we have to ensure everyone knows how to shoot safely before being allowed to take part in sessions. We are running two courses during term 1 - one in weeks 2-3 and one weeks 4-7 (you'll need to be a member to sign up for these):
Please note that when you join this club, your name, e-mail address, and date of birth will be used to register you with Archery GB, the national governing body for Archery in the UK. This is necessary to comply with the terms of our insurance.
Returning members: as agreed at our last AGM, we kindly ask you make a voluntary £10 contribution to help with the club's ongoing running costs. The contribution can be paid here: https://www.warwicksu.com/shop/product/10150100/.
