The Warwick University Real Ale Festival returns to the Copper Rooms at the Warwick University Student's Union for its 39th year and promises to be bigger, better and with more beer than ever. So mark Thursday 15th February to Saturday 17th February (Week 6) in your diaries. That's right, it's the Warwick University Real Ale Festival! Keep up to date with all the latest information here.
Boasting over 120 British beers from the Orkneys to the South Coast and all places in between, it's more than enough to keep any man, woman or child with a fake ID entertained. So consider our selection of over 50 ciders, fruit wines and world beers an added bonus. Add onto that entertainment in the form of the outrageous Victorian Pub Pianist Dr Busker, plus sets from our very own Warwick Big Band and a mystery guest and by this point we're just spoiling you.
Food will again be provided by Lazy Pig, who will be serving up hog roasts, pork rolls and vegetarian sausages. And for all you teetotalers and designated drivers, we haven't forgotten about you. We've got a fully stocked Soft Drinks Bar plus non-alcoholic beers.
So come along for good beer, good company and what's sure to be the highlight of the SU calendar!
6pm - Late each night.
Open to students and the general public alike.
£3.50 entry, cash only.
Free entry to CAMRA members on Saturday.
As a society we are dedicated to the promotion and drinking of Real Ale, though aficionados of "real" cider will also find a place here. We have regular socials, where we try to visit a number of establishments serving a variety of quality beers. Also on the calender are a selection of beer festivals around the country and various brewery tours. Our main event is the Real Ale Festival in the second half of Term 2, which usually attracts in the region of 3,000 visitors over three days. As far as we know, it is the largest independent (non-CAMRA) beer festival in the country in terms of the number of beers served (around 120 each year), and is always one to mark on the calendar! Come along and get involved!
We have a very active Web site at www.warwickale.co.uk
If you join online or at Reception, the Union does not give us your email address. Go to www.warwickale.co.uk and sign up to our mailing list on the right hand side to hear about socials and other events. For any queries you might have, just email Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org.
