Registration for the Warwick ASEAN Conference 2023 is now open! 

Summary

Curious about how the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) can navigate through an international climate characterised by uncertainty? Debating on the relevance of international cooperation? The Warwick ASEAN Conference — the UK's first and largest student-led ASEAN conference — will explore the opportunities and challenges for international cooperation amidst geopolitical tensions and turbulence. 

This year, our conference will be featuring 3 panels:

1. Unity within ASEAN 
2. ASEAN's relations with the West: Security in Southeast Asia
3. ASEAN's relations with China: Trade

Our panels will feature Ambassadors and representatives of the ASEAN embassies and high commissions in the UK, together with distinguished speakers specialised in ASEAN and global affairs, such as but not limited to Tomas Petricek* (Former Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Czech Republic) and Simon Anholt* (Founder of the Good Country Index and Independent Advisor to Presidents, Prime Ministers, monarchs and governments of over sixty countries, cities, and regions). 

Under the theme of "Synergy in Crisis?", the Warwick ASEAN Conference 2023 will deepen your understanding of critical issues such as security and trade, being grounded in the present geopolitical uncertainty while demonstrating a keen foresight of the future from the Southeast Asian perspective. 

Additionally, for passionate students keen on networking with corporate representatives and showcasing their talents, the Warwick ASEAN Conference will also be hosting our first ever Case Competition on 5th March 2023. In teams of 4-5, you will have the opportunity to work on a case and demonstrate your creativity by presenting an innovative solution to a problem facing Southeast Asia to a panel of judges from prominent firms. Outstanding participants of the Case Competition will be presented a LinkedIn certificate in recognition of their stellar performance.
