Feel you’ve earned a social excursion by now, a retreat from assignments just in time for Christmas?

PhysSoc is offering you a winter break in a stunning city with a rich history and character. Budapest is our destination - the economic, cultural, administrative and nightlife capital of Hungary. We’ll be staying in the center, just a stone throw away from the riverside, a number of parks, gardens, and museums, while surrounded by the best bars and clubs the country has to offer.

We all LOVE physics, but this trip isn’t about academics. This is a time dedicated to sight-seeing and good company, a chance to spend a few relaxed days with your friends or get to know some better. This is also an opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture, see a new world outside the window, and step outside the university bubble. What better time than as far away from deadlines as the start of the holidays?

There’ll be plenty of time for you to craft your own adventure with close friends or progress through your bucket list. Complimentary to this, our trips team will be directing the odd outing, including a walking tour, an evening meal and a night out to remember (or not remember), including a bar crawl. We’ll sort out the practical side; transport from campus to Budapest and back is on us. You’ll have a full and personalised experience of Budapestian atmosphere, no stress attached.

Requirements:

All Warwick students are welcome on this trip, it is not exclusive to physics students.

To attend this trip you must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity and if you are not a British citizen you must also hold the appropriate visas. All students attending the trip must purchase travel insurance and proof of this must be sent to Warwick Physics Society well in advance of the trip dates; as a rough guidance travel insurance should cost around £8 depending upon the chosen level of cover. If you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) this will come in handy, however it does not cover loss of posessions so we must ask you to also get travel insurance for your own peace of mind.
