Chortle Student Comedy Award 2013: Warwick Heat

Some of the best student comedians in the midlands compete for a place in the grand final and the chance to be crowned 'Chortle Student Comedian of the Year' Previous winners include Joe Lycett (Epic Win, BBC One), Lloyd Langford (former Warwick Student and regular panellist on Ask Rhod Gilbert, BBC One) and finalists have included Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners), Tom Rosenthal and Tom Deacon.

Compere: Ed Gamble

Ed Gamble is a stand up comedian who began his career writing, performing and co-directing for the Durham Revue 2004, and was himself a Chortle Student Comedian finalist in 2007.

Ed has appeared on Russell Howard's Good News both as a solo stand up and as part of Peacock and Gamble, aswell as appearing on Dave's One Night Stand. Ed is also currently supporting Greg Davies and has previously supported Russell Kane and Chris Addison on their nationwide tours.

Ed made a return to the Edinburgh fringe last year with The Peacock and Gamble Emergency Broadcast & Podcast, which was highly praised in The List for its "moments of stupendous invention"
