HE Bill Demo

If you haven't yet bought your coach tickets for the demo, now's your last chance! Tickets are £5 for students, £10.50 for non-students at the link above.

Pride Week

Week 7 is Pride Week, the SU's annual awareness week for LGBTUA+ issues. Our LGBTUA+ Officer Madi & Warwick Pride have organised a fantastic series of events, starting with 'Coming Out Of The Closet' on Monday, 1:30-4:00pm in the SU Atrium. Don't forget to collect your rainbow wristband from SUHQ Lounge, and show your support by posting a photo to social media using #WarwickHasPride!

Making Change Training

We want to support you in making change, so we've organised an exciting programme of events to run throughout the year. Next up on Thursday of week 7 is 'Mental Health First Aid', facilitated by university mental health coordinator Sarah Ashworth.

Security Code of Conduct

Following pressure from the student body, the University has published a code of conduct for all staff within Security Services. Now it’s up to you as students to scrutinise it, and to propose any changes you think are necessary to ensure that Security Services act in the interests and safety of students. Join us at our scrutiny event on Wednesday 16th November to go through it together, and/or fill out our short online form.

What's Next?

There's no set way of "doing" university or getting a career. Attend our What's Next? event on Tuesday week 7 to meet some alternative organisations, speak to travel companies, and learn more about postgraduate study, volunteering, and third sector opportunities.

Interfaith Week

Week 7 is also Warwick Interfaith Week! There's a real range of events on offer, from Tuesday's Interfaith Panel & Discussion, where there will be people from a number of Warwick's faith groups answering questions and talking about their respective faiths, to Lunch with ISoc on Wednesday.

Doggy Destress Day

Are the dark evenings getting you down? Need a break from work? Come down to the IKEA Room off of the SU Atrium on Monday week 7 to relax with some of the most adorable guide dogs around. Warwick's very own guide dog puppy Warwick will also be making an appearance!

SU Referenda

Our first All Student Meeting of the term takes place at 4pm on Monday week 7 in the SU Atrium. You can find a provisional list of motions here - if you'd like to register a campaign for or against a motion, please email democracy@warwicksu.com. Click attending on our Facebook event to get updates about the upcoming referenda.

Campaigns Funding

If you missed the last round of funding applications, the next deadline for the SU's Campaigns Fund bids is Monday week 8. If your campaign is related to environmental & sustainability issues, you might also want to consider the Environmental Sustainability Fund. For more information about the funds & how to apply, email democracy@warwicksu.com.

Save A Life

Warwick Lifesaving Club's Save A Life series is back in week 7 for another session, this time on how to save a child's life. Their workshops are free and aim to increase the knowledge of lifesaving skills in the UK.

International Women's Week

Term 2 might still seem a long time away, but our Women's Officer Emma-Marie is looking to get a head start on organising International Women's Week by recruiting people for an informal working group. The group is open to all members of the Warwick community - simply email women@warwicksu.com if you're interested in getting involved!

If you'd like to submit a campaign or action to feature in the weekly round-up, email the details to campaigns@warwicksu.com.
