Coping with living in a new environment

  • Join a society and/or a sports club (or as many as you like!). Attend one of the taster sessions, and make sure you go back a second time to test how well you fit in and enjoy it.
  • There are specific sporting events for postgrads and staff members that run during lunch time and the evenings to fit in with busy schedules. Take a look at the Warwick Sport website for more guidance on how to get involved.
  • Run for a position in the autumn elections of the Students’ Union such as a position on the Postgrad Exec or as International Officer.
  • Go and support Team Warwick at the weekly sport fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon – it will be a great bonding experience with your friends!
  • Eat well. Take part in the Students’ Union recipe share and brush up on your culinary skills. Maybe even cook a group meal for your flatmates in the first week and keep it a tradition! Healthy food is cheaper than takeaway food, surprisingly – so it pays off to eat well and often.
