Arrest

If you find yourself accused of a crime or something that involves the Police, it is important that you take advice and know your rights before agreeing to anything you don’t fully understand. Failure to seek advice might lead you to accept a ‘caution’ or admit ‘guilt’ ‘just to get it over with’. However, doing this might have unforeseen consequences that seriously affect you now or in the future.

For example:

  • Many types of work require Disclosure and Barring Service checks (DBS) for more information click here.

  • Simply being arrested stops you being able to use the Visa Waiver system for entering USA, causing you to have to apply for a visa before you visit for a holiday.
