Language
It’s hard not to notice the huge international scene at Warwick University. What this means is that we are in the perfect place for learning and teaching languages and taking part in cultural exchange. We are the society that makes the most of that... This is in fact one of the underlying reasons why we are doing what we are doing.
Unless you are new to the university this year, you will have probably heard of Erasmus Society, LipSoc (Language, Improvement and Practise Society) and TeachEng (Teach English). World @ Warwick combines the genius of these three societies, to create a meeting point for socialising and language exchange for both home students and internationals.
World @ Warwick offers to members an alternative way of learning and improving languages. You are in the right place if:
- You are doing a language degree, and want to improve your language at a faster pace
- You want to keep up a language you have learned or spoken before
- You are preparing for your year abroad
- You want to improve your English whilst you are here
- You fancy having a bit of fun with a weird new language or have always fancied learning a language but not wanted to take qualifications
- You want to boost your CV with a language
- You want to share your culture with others
- You don’t want to pay a fortune for boring, traditional lessons
- You want to mix socialising and languages
If you want to help other students learn and improve their skills in your native language (including English), then we are very interested in having YOU as a Group Leader! To find out more, click on “Language groups” on the left.
Think coffee meets, pub gatherings, whilst benefiting from everything written above! With varied and flexible practise whether it be one-to-one sessions, student led groups, find out in this section different ways to get involved, we bet we have something to cater for you...
