Language

It’s hard not to notice the huge international scene at Warwick University. What this means is that you are in an ideal place to learn or teach languages.

Learning

World@Warwick offers its members an alternative way of learning and improving languages. You are in the right place if:

  • You are doing a language degree, and want to improve your language at a faster pace
  • You want to keep up a language you have been learning or have spoken before
  • You are preparing for your year abroad
  • You want to improve your English whilst you are here
  • You fancy having a bit of fun with an unusual new language or have always fancied learning a language without having to take exams
  • You want to boost your CV
  • You want to share your culture with others
  • You don’t want to pay a fortune for boring, traditional lessons
  • You want to mix socialising and languages

Whether you're looking for one-to-one sessions, student led group "lessons," or just want to come to our bi-weekly Language Cafes in the Terrace Bar, have a look at these pages for more information.

Teaching

Want to be a language teacher in future?  Want to share your culture with others?  Want to volunteer a skill that could change someone's life?

Then we want YOU!

World@Warwick always needs students willing to teach languages.  You don't need past experience or qualifications, just enthusiasm and a sense of reliability.  We would love you to lead a small group or be a language buddy for another student.  If you're interested, please contact our Language Groups Coordinator or Buddy Scheme Coordinator here.
