*28/04/2008 update*
There has been a change in the Rebuild Timeline - we will now retain the Graduate, the Graduate Club, the entire of the Marketplace, South Central and the bandsoc rehearsal room until the end of Term 3. We will still lose the Cooler at the start of Week 7. This change has been incorporated into the project plan to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the end of term festivities.
The Union South Rebuild is an opportunity for us to finally be able to do all the things that the building has not allowed us to for so long. It has been a long project and is the most significant development for the Union since the building was first handed over to us more than 30 years ago.
Students have always been and will continue to be the heart of the Union. This combined with the hard work of staff and the continual sense of innovation that comes from having a Sabb team that changes yearly have made this project one of the most exciting that campus has ever seen. The budget has fluctuated and there have been surprises along the way but we truly believe the designs that we have now will provide our members with a building that will see them faithfully through the next 25 years.
