Frequently Asked Questions

What’s all this about, then?
The Summer Party is Warwick SU’s massive end-of-year blowout which takes place in Term 3. Situated on the grassy fields behind University House, it’s a full-on mini-festival for all Warwick students which provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the end of exams with your friends and coursemates - expect a diverse line-up of great artists along with a host of student talent, delicious food, refreshing beverages, inflatable attractions, a free funfair and more. Once the main event has finished, the After-Party then continues ’til the early hours over in The Copper Rooms!

Keep your eyes on this website for the full Main Stage line-up, which will be announced on Monday Week 1 of next term (23rd April). Tickets for the event cost £38 and go on sale to all year groups that morning. A limited number of combination tickets for the Summer Party and this year’s Graduation Ball will also go on sale from this date to Finalists at a discounted price of £90.
When and where do tickets go on sale?
Tickets will be on sale from the Warwick SU website and via SUHQ Reception.
Do I have to be a Finalist to attend?
Nope. The Summer Party is open to all Warwick students, regardless of year group!
How many tickets can I purchase?
Tickets are limited to a maximum of 2 per person. This is to ensure that everyone gets a fair crack at them!
Can I bring a guest who's already graduated or is studying at another Uni?
You certainly can. You're welcome to bring anyone along, provided it's not Gary Glitter (he's a bit of a rotter).
I've got a Platinum Card, does that get me in?
Yes it does! This year, for the first time, entry to the Summer Party is included in your Platinum card. However, please note that you will still need to register your ticket and collect it from SUHQ reception to get in. The deadline for this will be midnight on 30th April.
Will I need to pick up a physical ticket?
Yes. You need to pick up your physical ticket from SUHQ Reception ahead of the event in order to gain access to the Summer Party - we will email purchasers when these are available for collection nearer the time.
I’ve bought a ticket, but decided I don’t want to go. Can I get a refund?
No. As with all SU events, tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERRABLE, unless in exceptional circumstances determined by the Entertainments Manager. In the event of the Summer Party completely selling out, we will create a waiting-list for people wanting tickets and then offer refunds to those wanting to sell theirs on, provided there is someone waiting to buy it.
Can I still get a ticket if it sells out?!
Er… nah, mate. When tickets are gone, they're gone. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilchio. Please don't badger the poor folk at Reception or Ents asking if there's one more down the back of the sofa, as there won't be! As above, the best way to get hold of a ticket in this instance is to put your name down on the waiting-list at Reception as quickly as possible - in the run-up to the event there tend to be a few returns from people who can't go.
Can I flog my ticket on?
Nope - you CANNOT sell tickets between you. Although you will receive a physical ticket prior to the event, each ticket is assigned exclusively to your University card and therefore cannot be traded. In the interests of fairness (the waiting-list usually starts from the moment tickets sell out) we ask that you *don't* try to jump the queue on behalf of your mates by agreeing to sell them your unwanted ticket!
Is there a dress code?
Nope - feel free to wear absolutely anything you like. Probably best to avoid a shell-suit/bum-bag combo though, as they went out of fashion quite some time ago.
Can I bring my own booze?
Afraid not – we have a special outdoor license for this event which prohibits customers from bringing their own drink on-site. We will be searching bags on arrival and confiscate any rogue cans or bottles knocking about, so don’t try to sneak any in!
Are the fairground rides and inflatable attractions free to use?
Yes - all attractions are included in the ticket price. Please note however that in the interests of safety we reserve the right to refuse admission to any of these if you’ve had too much to drink.
Can I bring juggling balls, a musical instrument or a poi-type thing?
Yes – in fact, we positively encourage it. Our aim with the Summer Party is to create as much of a festival atmosphere as possible. Don’t try and start a campfire or spark up a doobie though or you’ll be hoofed out quick-smart. Also, no-one likes bagpipes, so bear that in mind.
Does my ticket get me into the Afterparty in the Copper Rooms afterwards?
It does indeed – please note, however, that this will be subject to capacity.
