Warwick Sport is a partnership between the Students’ Union and the University, which offers a huge variety of sporting opportunities. We have 72 Sports Clubs catering for all abilities – so whether you’re a sports fanatic or a more casual player, everyone is welcome! But our clubs are not just about playing sport – each club has its own character and active social scene, where you’ll really feel part of a friendly community.

If club sport isn’t for you, then we also offer a fantastic Warwick Active programme where you can get together with your Hall, Department or Society and play in our inter-mural leagues – they’re the perfect way to keep active, stay social and have loads of fun! We also offer short coached courses in golf, self-defence and many more, where you can learn from beginner or improve your technique in the advanced sessions.

With such a range of choice, Warwick enables both experienced athletes to compete at International level and complete beginners to learn from scratch. We have seen novices start a new sport at Warwick and become coaches, black-belts and national-level competitors during their time here!

So whether you want to compete at high-level competitions, attend occasional keep-fit sessions, go on adrenaline-fuelled weekend trips or just have a kick-about with your flatmates on a sunny day – there’s something for everyone here at Warwick!

As your Sports Officer, my role is centred on representing your views, so please do email me at, or come and see me in my office in the SUHQ with any suggestions or ideas you have and I'll always try my best to deliver what you guys want.

How has our engagement in sport changed over the last 50 years, and what do we need to do to get more people active in the years ahead? For this week’s 50@50 we spoke to Jen Emeny-Green, Sports Development Coordinator for Warwick Sport, to hear her views on this topic and to find out a bit more about her team’s work engaging as many people in sport at Warwick as possible.

If you're looking for your next challenge why not register a place in the 2 Castles Run on Sunday 14th June? Run from Warwick Castle and cross the finish line in Kenilworth Castle passing through the stunning Warwickshire route. Better yet, sign up as part of the University of Warwick Team and fundraise towards some great research projects here at Warwick.
