Classes!
Throughout the week we offer classes for all levels:
- Complete Beginner: No Salsa experience at all!
- Post Beginner/Improvers 1: Two or three lessons - those who know how to do a Crossbody lead
- Improvers 2: Usually a few months experience - very comfortable with hammerlock and crossbody turn patterns
- Intermediate/Advanced: Usually over a year’s experience - confident with complex turn patterns and footwork
If you are unsure about your level, ask an Exec Member! Don’t be intimidated, most of our Exec started as complete beginners here at Uni!
Mondays:
Copper Rooms 2 from 7pm-9pm: CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS THEN SALSA FREESTYLE!!! Drinks in the Terrace Bar afterwards.... :D
Fridays:
Copper Rooms 2 from 4.30pm-6.30pm: CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS AND IMPROVERS 1 THEN FREESTYLE....(Free entry after 5.30pm for freestyle only)
Latin Nights!
Once a month, we have a Latin Night Party in the Copper Rooms! We start slightly later, at 8pm, and then run through to 2am!
With the party we run ALL LEVEL SALSA, as well as a guest workshop such as REGGAETON, KIZOMBA, BACHATA, MERENGUE, CHA CHA or HIP-HOP!
We have a Guest DJ and a Bar, so don’t miss out!
Trips and Socials!
We are a very active social society! Check out the Table above to see our socials this term which include Circling, Top B and meals in Leamington! These are a great way to get involved in the society - no matter how much dance experience you have!
On the dance side, every month we run trips to the biggest Salsa Party in the Midlands....and we even provide transport for you lucky people! ALL LEVEL CLASSES and PERFORMANCES from some of the World’s Best Salseros!
Once a year we go on our annual tour! Previous trips have included Paris and Cyprus! Check out our Facebook page for pictures! Make sure you book on early this year to avoid disappointment!
Performances!
The Salsa Society is renowned for excellent performances throughout the year! Last year our performances won awards for ‘Best Latin Dance’ in ‘Busta Move’ and ‘Best Choreography’ at the ‘Dance Club Latino Salsa Ball’. We also performed at One World Week, Pizazz, The Colliery Club, and at the Cyprus International Salsa Congress!
We offer performances for ALL LEVELS, so no matter how much Salsa you have done, you can get involved!

If you need any help, just email us or get in touch through Facebook or Twitter. But here are a couple of FAQs...
What do I wear? Whatever you want! No special shoes needed but if you have latin/dance shoes that’s cool. For higher levels avoid rubber soled shoes.
Do I need a partner? Nope! We usually get about equal numbers, and we swap everybody with each other during the class, so you will meet lots of new people!
