Freshblood Theatre are a society keen to encourage creative writing and performance in all mediums and from all corners of the student body this year and this will manifest itself in a greater commitment to plays, workshops, collaborations and original student drama as well as our popular cabarets.

The most important thing, however is to write, and send it to us. If you have plays, poems, stories, sketches, monologues or anything else that you want our exec to read and offer advice or you want to have performed, then send it to our email address or put a hard copy in our pigeon hole (490) in Union North. Likewise, if you're interested in performing at a Cabaret, whether you’re a first-timer or an old hand, drop us a line and we'll put you on a stage.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Freshblood give students the opportunity to explore all aspects of theatrical production, with particular emphasis on student written drama. All Freshblood Theatre productions, whether written or devised are 100% original and student based. We aim to stage at least one student written play in each term and offer loads of workshops that aim to give you the tools to write them. Our new script reading evenings offer the opportunity for writers, actors and directors to come together and flex their creative muscles in an informal, social context. Meanwhile, our Cabaret evenings, which are extremely popular whether on or off campus, include stand up comedy, short plays, poetry, musical numbers the odd martial arts demonstration, magic, as well as other more varied entertainment. We also arrange numerous socials to actively continue encouraging members to get involved in theatre in some form or another.

With so much on offer from a highly active society renowned for being innovative and friendly there is no excuse.

So get writing and get involved!

Cabaret
The most varied night of entertainment in town. Taking place (ususally) in Kelseys Bar in Leamington Spa, this is an opportunity to escape the campus bubble for an evening of music, comedy, poetry, pole dancing, martial arts, juggling... and whatever else anyone feels like performing!
Anyone can perform, just send us an email or join the Cabaret Facebook Group and you can strut your stuff in front of an enthusiastic and friendly crowd.

Remember, anything goes so whatever you can do then do it at cabaret!

Christmas Panto
Get ready for the great British traditional Pantomime done Freshblood style.
Last year saw a panto of epic inebriation, performance and length; we are taking submission for Panto 2011!

Writing, Acting and Directing Workshop/Socials
As a society devoted to getting student written work on the stage and out in the world, we want to help in anyway we can. Either send us in a sample of your work or come along to our workshops! For details of workshops please join the Facebook group or join the society and receive our weekly email!
