For more information about Chorus, please also have a look at our own website:
Chorus is the largest choir on campus, made up of around 200 student and non-student members. We sing some of the best music around, and we do at least one concert every term. There is no audition - anybody who enjoys singing is welcome to come along to our rehearsals, which are usually on Thursday night at 7pm in the Arts Centre Conference Room (ACCR).
Recent performances have included Magnificat by John Rutter, Boy And a Girl by Eric Whitacre, and Elijah by Mendelssohn in December. Our most recent performance was Verdi's Requiem in the Butterworth Hall on 4th March.
We have also had very successful joint tours with the Symphony Orchestra (www.uwso.co.uk) to Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands; the most recent was Milan in March 2012, performing Mozart's Requiem. We also have regular socials, as well as gathering in the bar after rehearsals!
A calendar for the Spring Term 2012 can be found here: www.warwicksu.com/societies/chorus/calendar.
To all prospective members: If you would like to join Chorus, you will need to register with us and get a score for the term. This takes place in ROOTES RECEPTION on the first two Thursdays of term, before the start of the rehearsal. Turn up any time between 5pm and 7pm on 6th October or on 13th October and bring along £15 for a score deposit (don't worry, you do get this back when you leave Chorus and as long as you return your scores in time at the end of each term!). We look forward to meeting you!
