China In Focus
Introduction
We are an academic society which focuses on contemporary and historical issues concerning China, covering topics such as its economic development, governmental structure, political beliefs, business management, law and order, its diverse cultures, religious life, development of social structure, education, health care and its popular culture. We are most interested in the emergence of modern China, and its impact on the world.
We have the ambition to provide all people who are interested in China a platform where they can learn more about China and have the opportunity to exchange their ideas with others on issues related to the Country. We shall realise our aims through various activities including; talks, debates, forums, exhibitions, corporate case studies etc. We will also invite elite scholars from within and outside University of Warwick to give their professional opinion on the topics mentioned and facilitate the exchange of ideas.
We strive to promote equal opportunities by conducting our business in English at all times and to invite as diverse a population as possible to join our society. All members of the society, regardless of their gender, age, race, or language, shall have equal opportunities in participating in our activities. Executive committee members shall also take these matters into account at all times when making decisions.
