2011...the acedemic year of death and sneaky hijinks.
Our website is http://assassinsguild.jimdo.com where you can find out how the Long Games are going, pour over the rules, see when upcoming socials will be, and other things you'd want the website to have on it. If there's something you think would be a good addition, that isn't there right now, email us and we'll certainly consider it.
Introduction
Assassins Guild is a society dedicated to the game of mock assassination. Players are assigned targets who they have to hunt down and mock assassinate with fake weapons such as cardboard knives and water pistols. Each player will also be being hunted by assassins, so a healthy sense of paranoia is encouraged. The last assassin left alive is declared the winner (depending on which rules are used).
There are two main types of games that we play. The Long games run for about 4 weeks and the short games are played in an afternoon.

Long Games
A Long game is the bread and butter of the Assassin's Guild. We encourage every assassin to play both games in the year if possible, as the more players the better the game.
Each Assassin in the game is given a number of targets to assassinate, who are also Assassins. So while you have your targets, you will also be hunted, stalked and murdered in your bed.
The Rules section on our website will give you an indication as to how the game proceeds, but to see how good the game is, you really need to experience it first hand.
Short Games
A short game lasts for a few hours/minutes depending on the proficiency of the assassins involved and the weather used. Play is short and sweet, with a very different strategy to the long games, with play focusing on killing as fast as possible rather than with as much skill or stealth.
Players meet the Umpire at a predetermined location, who will dictate the rules of the game and the boundaries in which they are to be confined (melee weapons on central campus for instance). Play goes on, with dead players returning to the Umpire, until one player is left at which point the player left is the victor. Several games may be played one after another, depending on the light conditions
