Welcome to Warwick Asian Society (ASOC) 2011-2012!
ABOUT: We exist to celebrate the richness of Asian culture and provide social and academic support to student members at the University. From exciting club nights out, tasty food gatherings to inspirational career talks, we aim to satisfy a whole range of needs.
DESCRIPTION: We are currently the 9th largest of 230 societies at the University of Warwick, and proud to be the largest cultural society throughout the whole instiution.
Composed of a number of members from different years, studying different courses and a plethora of different cultural backgrounds, we aim t
o help create new friendships between students throughout the whole of the university and through this help the development of individuals from naive, somewhat ambitious freshers and allow them to fulfill their potential whilst enjoying a vivid social life.
The seminal event in our calendar is the Asian Society Ball, a lavish and glamorous affair which attracts both members and non-members. We are also heavily involved in One World Week, participating in the fashion show and in the intra-university dance competition "Bustamove" and the World Party. In the year just gone a very large proportion of the society was involved in OWW, and it is sure to be a huge part of the society again, letting students pariticipate in the first and foremost biggest student only run event...in the world.
