Platinum Card

PLATINUM PASSES NOW SOLD OUT - INDIVIDUAL EVENT TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

With the recent fees hike, we know that student finances are feeling the squeeze – and that’s why we aim to help you save as much money as possible. If you intend to make the most of your first year on campus and want to save £££ in the process, we also offer the Platinum Card, which covers all SU-run events in The Copper Rooms during Freshers Fortnight and beyond!

Platinum Cards cost £200 and grant you access to every SU Ents-promoted event taking place on campus for the entire academic year - this includes all our regular club nights, plus the Christmas Ball, Skool Dayz, Pressure, the Summer Party and much more. The only events which aren’t included are events taking place off-campus, events run by SU Societies (including One World Week), and externally-promoted live gigs, as detailed in the Terms & Conditions below. The exceptions to this are Warwick Snow presents AVALANCHE in Week 1 and Latin Night in Week 2, both are which ARE covered by the Platinum Card.

While £200 might sound steep at first, let’s assume that you were intending to buy a Freshers Passport for £58 and also wanted to go to the Summer Party in Term 3 (£38 last year) – that’s £96’s worth of value you’ve got out of it already! Breaking down the remaining £104 across three 10-week terms, that works out to spending just over £3 a week on event tickets – the price of Top Banana on a Friday or Pop on a Wednesday. So if you plan to go out more than once in any given week, you’ve already saved money – and that’s before you factor in events like Skool Dayz, Pressure, the Christmas Ball or live gigs with a more expensive ticket price!

Best of all, you don’t ever have to worry about big events selling out or buying individual tickets – simply turn up, flash your Platinum Card, swipe your Uni card and you’re in. We only have a limited number of Platinum Cards available, and they always sell out, so make sure you get in there quick!

General Terms and Conditions

The Platinum Card gets you into all events promoted by Warwick SU Entertainments Department for the academic year 2012-2013. Please note that if we run a live gig or large event which we anticipate will sell out, we may ask you to register your attendance in advance by ‘purchasing’ a free Registration ticket via the SU website – however, we will e-mail all Platinum Cardholders in advance to notify them that this will be the case.

  • Our ticketing system is completely electronic, and all information is stored on your University card (which we swipe on the door). Tickets to all events are automatically ‘built in’ to your Uni card, so you don’t need to purchase any tickets. However, you must bring your University card AND Platinum Card to every event you wish to attend.
  • Readmission is not allowed once you have attended an event.
  • You are still subject to the Students’ Union’s event admission procedures, and can be refused entry or ejected if you breach these.
  • If you are banned from the Students’ Union at any time, your Platinum Card will cease to be valid without recompense for the duration of the ban. So, you know… behave yourself!
  • Your card is non-refundable and non-transferrable – i.e. you cannot lend it to anyone else.
  • Your Platinum Card DOES cover entry to the Summer Party in Term 3 – however, in order to confirm your attendance, you will need to ‘purchase’ the free Registration option in the week that Summer Party tickets go on sale. We will circulate information regarding this via email nearer the time. Please note that if you have not done this by the time that the registration period has passed, you will be required to purchase a ticket at the regular price.
  • The Platinum Card does NOT cover entry to the Gatecrasher Trip in Week 2, or the Graduation Ball or Sports Ball in Term 3.
  • The Platinum Card does NOT cover entry to events run by SU societies or external promoters, unless otherwise noted. Live shows promoted by external companies will be clearly noted on the event page.
  • Every effort will be made to allow priority queuing at all events – however, this cannot be guaranteed.
  • IMPORTANT: please note that entry to events is only guaranteed before 11pm. After this time you will be granted entry if the capacity allows, but this cannot be guaranteed!

Platinum Cards can be collected from the Freshers Fair Ents Stall (29th & 30th Sept) or SUHQ Reception (1st Oct onwards).
