Freshers Passport

FRESHERS PASSES NOW SOLD OUT - INDIVIDUAL EVENT TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
There’s so much going on over the first two weeks of term that you might not know initially which events you fancy going along to. Luckily, we’ve got a handy solution – the FRESHERS PASSPORT.

Freshers Passports cost £58 and get you in to every SU Ents-hosted event taking place in The Copper Rooms during Freshers Fortnight (Monday 1st October – Sunday 14th October inclusive). If you’re intending on making the most of your Freshers experience, these are an essential purchase – not only does it guarantee you entry before 11pm into sell-out nights, but you don’t need to worry about buying individual tickets to massive events like the Freshers Party. If you fancy checking an event out or decide to go on the spur of the moment, simply turn up before 11pm, flash your wristband, swipe your Uni card and you’re in!

Alternatively, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a party animal, you could go for a Platinum Card instead – these cost £200 and get you into every SU Ents-hosted event for the entire academic year. While it may sound steep at first, you’ll save a bundle if you go out regularly during the year, and it also covers the massive Summer Party in Term 3! (Pre-registration required). Find out more here...

Freshers Passports come as a wristband which you will need to keep on for the duration of Freshers Fortnight – please note that you therefore cannot transfer your purchase by passing it between you and your mates, as the individual event tickets are stored on your University card . We only have a limited number of Freshers Passports available, and they always sell out, so make sure you get in there quick!

TERMS, CONDITIONS AND ALL THAT JAZZ…

  • Our ticketing system is completely electronic – all the individual event tickets are ‘built in’ to the Freshers Passport and this information is stored on your University card (which we swipe on the door).
  • ONCE YOU HAVE PURCHASED A FRESHERS PASSPORT, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY TICKETS FOR ANY INCLUDED EVENTS (including the Freshers Party). However, you must bring your University card AND wristband to every event you wish to attend.
  • Your Freshers Pass covers the following events:
    • 1st Oct: Paint Party
    • 2nd Oct: Warwick Snow presents Avalanche
    • 3rd Oct: Pop! (*)
    • 4th Oct: Zane Lowe
    • 5th Oct: Top Banana - £500 giveaway
    • 6th Oct: Tinchy Stryder
    • 7th Oct: Comedy Society Showcase
    • 8th Oct: Hall Wars
    • 9th Oct: Latin Night
    • 10th Oct: Pop! (*)
    • 11th Oct: Live Gig
    • 12th Oct: The Freshers Party
    • 13th Oct: Crash (**)
    • 14th Oct: Tony Lee – XXX-rated Comedy Hypnotist(***)

(*) Passes guarantee you entry into the event only – if you wish to “circle” with a Sports Team beforehand, please register your attendance by ‘purchasing’ the free circling ticket on the event page of the SU website. These will be released on Monday of Week 1, and will be strictly first-come, first-served!
(**) As it is taking place in an external venue in Birmingham with its own admission procedures, the Gatecrasher Trip on 13th October is unfortunately NOT covered by the Freshers Pass. However, this is the ONLY event during Freshers Fortnight which is not included!

(***) Please note that, as these are seated events, we will be holding two showings. A limited number of 400 places will be available on the door only. If you wish to attend, please register your attendance by ‘purchasing’ the free ticket on the event page of the SU website.
(n.b. Un-Plucked on Tuesdays, Idioteque on Thursdays, Get Funked on Fridays and Mixology on Saturdays are free entry)

General Terms and Conditions

  • Readmission is not allowed once you have attended an event.
  • You are still subject to the Students’ Union’s event admission procedures and can be refused entry or ejected if you breach these.
  • If you are banned from the Students’ Union at any time, your Freshers Passport will cease to be valid without recompense for the duration of the ban. So, you know… behave yourself!
  • Your wristband is non-refundable and non-transferrable – you cannot lend it to anyone else.
  • All efforts will be made to create a separate queue for Freshers Pass holders at big events to guarantee fast-track entry.

Event Entry - IMPORTANT

  • Please note that entry to events is only guaranteed before 11pm. After this time, you will be admitted if the venue capacity allows, but this cannot be guaranteed!
  • Demand for all events during the first two weeks of term is extremely high, so we strongly recommend you get there ahead of the 11pm deadline if you wish to attend!
  • There is no dress code for any event at Warwick SU, including the Freshers Party. (That said, we did have a streaker once, and he got chucked out fairly quickly. We do also actively encourage fancy dress at the Freshers Party!)
  • Wristbands can be collected from the Freshers Fair Ents Stall (29th & 30th Sept) or SUHQ Reception (1st October onwards).
