The Graduate is the place to go to relax and get away from work, politics, sport, or whatever else is causing you hassle. It’s the only real pub on campus, designed in 2002 with the aim of bringing good quality Real Ale back to the students.

We offer four ales in total each day. There are two regular ales on handpull; Purity’s UBU and St Austell’s Tribute, then then two guest ales on handpull that change regularly, every time the firkin runs dry. Also on handpull we have a multi award-winning Traditional Scrumpy Cider - Old Rosie - to warm the inside and keep the colour in your cheeks.

Generally, the Graduate is used to chill out and unwind with people making full use of the free WI-FI spots available. There is a large balcony area for al fresco socialising.

The only regular event in the Graduate is The Jam which is free on Wednesday evenings, offering an eclectic mix of toe-tapping beats. There are also occasional evenings when local and student bands or societies come and play acoustic music for your entertainment.

Once a term the Graduate hosts a festival of drink; towards the end of the first term there will be a Winter Ale Festival and then towards the end of the third term a Summer Ale Festival, situated within the Graduate, with extended ranges of eminently quaffable ale to indulge yourselves in. The second term sees the return of our Real Cider and Perry Festival to quench the thirst as the weather starts to warm.

The Graduate offers a wide range of drinks giving options for all tastes, with extended ranges of spirits, wines, international bottled beers and soft drinks.

There are Basket Meals available from 12:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday priced at £3.95, these are ordered at the bar and will be brought to you from Cafe Xanana.
