Salary:

Students Union Grade 6, point 22 annual salary £22,332

Hours

A minimum of 36.5 hours per week averaged over 52 weeks. Some flexibility is required from time to time, including occasional weekend working. Core office hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30a.m to 4.30p.m and Friday 8.30a.m to 3.30p.m

Main Duty of Job

to support the human resources manager in delivering high standards of service to senior managers, department managers and all members of staff.

To advise managers appropriately and within the law in respect of employment issues

to implement and monitor induction for front line staff

maintain accurate personnel records.

Main Duties and Expected Standards

To provide knowledgeable and professional advice in respect of organisational HR procedures and policy maintaining the credibility of the Human Resources function. Maintain professional and supportive working relationships
Deal professionally with general enquiries, referring the individual to the appropriate person where necessary Maintain all personnel records and files in accordance with Data Protection Act and Employment Legislation Work closely with the Assistant Finance Manager to ensure all payroll details are correct and correspond with personnel records Ensure the maintenance of recruitment documentation Ensure the effective planning and implementation recruitment processes for student staff Plan the recruitment process for permanent vacancies under the direction of the HR manager Source temporary staff to meet resource requirements through appropriate means Take part in selection process as agreed by the Human Resources Manager Manage the appraisal calendar, including probationary reviews Maintain accurate records of staff training and evaluation of courses (in conjunction with the HR Manager) Review policy and procedure under the direction of the HR Manager on a project basis, undertaking necessary research Monitor Equal Opportunities statistics and feedback to the HRM Ensure contracts, Terms and Conditions and offer letters are issued as required Support the HR Manager in delivering HR resource plans and in managing change Take minutes of disciplinary and grievance hearings.
