Exec Training

Society Exec Training is there for you to make sure that you have all the knowledge and skills to run your society effectively, safely and legally!

The courses are also a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge (great on the CV) and they really help in the running of any successful society. Signups for all the courses are available here. The courses which are available are listed below. Except for the First Aid Course (which is three hours long), all courses last about an hour.

Managing Your Money

Managing Your Money is a compulsory course for society treasurers, and is completed online. You can access the course using this link: Managing Your Money. The information is there so you can come back to it and refer to it at any time.

Basic Training

This course gives you the basics on how to run your society, including successful handover, how to work well as an exec and what an Event Planning form looks like. Basic Training is given by the Societies Officer.

Equal Opportunities

This session is given by our Welfare Officer and covers everything you need to know do to be able to adhere to our Equal Opportunities policy.

Duty of Care

As Exec members you have a duty of care to your members. This course covers what your responsibilities are and how to make sure you're fulfilling them. The course is delivered by Gerard Henry (Student Activities and Development Manager)

Thursday 20th October 7pm - 8pm

First Aid

We also provide a basic First Aid course, run by an external teacher. If you're going on a trip or tour, one of your exec members on that trip or tour must have completed the First Aid course in the previous 12 months (the course has to be renewed annually).
