UNFORTUNATELY, MARINA & THE DIAMONDS HAVE HAD TO PULL OUT OF THE GIG DUE TO ILLNESS - HOWEVER, THE OTHER 3 BANDS WILL BE SOLDIERING ON MANFULLY FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT!

We apologise for any disappointment this may cause, and wish lovely Marina all the best for a speedy recovery. Because she really is lovely.

Each year, that prestigious indie bible, the NME, gathers together a handful of the hottest upcoming bands on the scene, bungs them on a bus and carts them off around the country to perform to packed houses full of adoring music-lovers keen to discover the next big thing.

Previous years have seen Maximo Park, Blood Red Shoes, The Automatic, Friendly Fires, La Roux and Crystal Castles all sign up for a piece of the action, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to catch indie’s latest superstars in waiting!

With that in mind, cop a swizz of who’ll be gracing our main stage here at The Copper Rooms in Week 1 of the new term…

GOLDEN SILVERS

This guitarless three-piece have been setting tongues wagging and dancefloors grooving for the best part of 2009 with their stonking singles True Romance and Arrows of Eros – just two of many top tunes adorning their highly-acclaimed debut album. More hotly-tipped than a branding iron, they are sure to prove worthy bill-toppers for this year’s tour!

LOCAL NATIVES

All the way from the USA, Local Natives combine the multiple harmonies of Fleet Foxes with the rousing stomp of Arcade Fire. Sound appealing? It is! Check ‘em out on Myspace for a cheeky preview.

YES GIANTESS

This 80s-tinged four-piece specialise in lush slabs of dreamy electro-pop that’s sure to find a home in the hearts of those who rate the likes of Empire of the Sun and MGMT. So, pretty much everyone, then. Result!
