When I try and buy a ticket it says I am not a student, what can I do?

The reason for this is because at some point in the registration process with the University a data protection box has been pressed which has told the University NOT to pass on personal details to the Union. This is often done unintentionally but is quite easily fixed - here is how to do it:

1. Log on to your university account my.insite account at www.warwick.ac.uk

2. Click my student records on the left hand side, then my student records again on that part of the screen

3. On the left hand side of this is a section that says "Who can receive my data", and it will show you who you've given permission for. We believe you have selected Students Union (SU) as 'no'. To change this, on the right hand side click "Edit who may receive my data"4. Check the box that allows you to pass your details on to the Students' Union and save it. These details will come to us overnight; your problem with the Student's Union website should be resolved therefore the day after you change that option.

What ID do I need for the venue?

If you are a Warwick Student you will need to bring your Student Card as ID. If you are not a student then you will need to bring with you some form of photo ID, if you do not have photo ID you will need to have two forms of ID with you, one of which must be an official form of identification, for example:
- Paper part of a driving license
- Birth certificate or copy of a Birth Certificate
- A utility bill which displays their full name

I’m not a Warwick student - can I still come to an event?

If an event is open to the General Public you will be able to buy a ticket and come to the event no matter whether you are a student or not. All gigs are open to the general public, together with certain events like Electric City, Time Tunnel,
Crash, Pressure and Control.

If the event is Warwick NUS plus guest you will only be allowed to enter if you are a guest of a Warwick Student.

Students from other Universities are able to attend any event and purchase tickets at the NUS price, but will need to bring their NUS card with them on the night as proof of ID.

Do I need to register to buy a ticket?

In order to buy tickets on the Students' Union website you need to be registered with us. You only need to register once, and once you have done this all your details will be stored so that the next time you visit the site you simply need to log in with your userid and password in order to buy tickets. This really speeds up the buying process for you. We therefore recommend that you register in advance rather than waiting until you are buying tickets.

How do I register to buy a ticket?

You can register any time on the Union website by clicking on “Create New Account” underneath the login box on the homepage. Registering requires that you create a user ID and password. You MUST keep this password secure. Once you have registered with us, all your details will be stored so that you don’t need to enter them again with the exception of your credit card details. For security purposes your credit card details are not stored. Next time you visit the site you simply need to log in with your user ID and password and enter your credit card details in order to buy tickets.

How do I buy tickets for an event if I’m not a student?

You will need to set up a new account by clicking on Guest Registration in the Create New Account section of the website, so the ticket can be attached to your ID.

Where do I get my tickets from?

Warwick S.U. operates a digital ticketing system. Your tickets are loaded onto your account and accessed on the door. We do not create physical tickets, and you do not need to pick up any tickets.

Will my tickets be sent out to me?

As there are no physical tickets, all you need to do is bring some form of ID with you plus your confirmation email that will have been sent to you when you bought your ticket.

I have not had any form of Email Confirmation for my ticket.

When you register your account you need to have added an email address to your profile, otherwise the confirmation cannot be sent out. To add an email to your account you will need to log in, then click on Contact Details.

Can I buy tickets on the night?

For some Union events there are usually at least 250 tickets made available on the door.  However, these may be a pound more expensive than they are in advance. You are also advised to queue early for popular events as there will be a strong demand for tickets.

Gigs are an exception as there are no tickets held for the door and all tickets are made available in advance.

What is your policy on refunds?

Once you have purchased your tickets, they cannot be refunded or exchanged unless an event is cancelled, moved to another date, or if there are significant changes to the event (i.e. a change of the headline act or venue). All refunds are granted at the discretion of the Entertainments Manager. If you have a query/problem with this policy, then please ask to speak to the Outlet Supervisor.  If you are still not happy with the outcome, then you can write to the Communications Officer (currently Mike Pidgeon) with your complaint at comms@warwicksu.com

How do I contact the Union to buy tickets?

You can either purchase tickets through the website (www.warwicksu.com) and then click on the event of your choice, or purchase tickets in person at S.U.H.Q. Reception.

What are your standard terms and conditions of sale?

To view our Terms and Conditions (including full Refund policy) please click here.

If an event sells out, are there ever extra tickets released?

The only occasion when more tickets are made available is when an event is upgraded to a larger room, or there are ticket returns. Check the union homepage for any information relating to more tickets.

How do I know my booking has gone through?

When you buy tickets you should have been sent an email confirmation with information relating to your purchase.  You can also check in your “Purchase History” on the website.  Log into your account and then click “Purchase History” .
