Education Officer

- Co-ordinates the SSLC system - Liaison with the University on academic services - Run campaigns on education-related issues, maintaining a good knowledge of the HE sector

The Education Officer concentrates on improving the reason that we are all here: our academic experience. Coordinating the Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) system they make sure that students have a say in how their course is run on a grassroots level. As well as this they also sit on a number of University committees and working groups to give the institution the student viewpoint on any decisions being made or projects being taken forward. The Education Offcier takes the lead on academic campaigns - from fees and funding to feedback on exams.

Democracy and Development Officer

- Encourage involvement in Union Democracy - Encouraging and responding to student feedback regarding Union services - Oversight of Union communications

The Democracy and Development Officer is responsible for ensuring that all the democratic structures in the Union operate appropriately and are relevant to our members. They oversee the election and referenda periods and are heavily involved with all of the preparation, execution and resolution of Union Council, the Executive Committee and Union General Meetings. They are also the lead Officer for student feedback in the Union, ensuring Warwick SU stays relevant to its members.  The Democracy and Development Officer reports to the appropriate Union and University bodies on financial matters.

Welfare and Campaigns Officer

The Welfare and Campaigns Officer works closely with the Student Advice Centre to deliver support and advice for our members.  He/she is the lead Officer on community issues, working to ensure a positive reputation for students living off campus.  The Welfare and Campaigns Officer is also responsible for facilitating student campaigning, supporting our members in making change.

Societies Officer

- Support for Society Execs - Promote society activities - Promote student development opportunities

The Societies Officer supports all of the student societies and is the first port of call for any student executive or member if they need help for anything society related. Working closely with the staff in the Student Activities Room, He/she helps students deliver all the amazing events and activities which we enjoy here at Warwick. Central to this role is the personal development our members experience when involved in societies. The Societies Officer allocates all the societies’ budgets for the following year, and manages the essential training for every society executive committee, which gives them the skills and facilities to ensure their society is as successful as possible. He/she is also the key contact with the University's Careers and Skills Department.

Sports Officer

The Sports Officer is the vital link between the Union and the University which enables the pioneering partnership of Warwick Sport to happen. He/she is the public face of student sport and ensures that as many people as possible actively engage with sport at Warwick. He/she works with the Sports Committee to provide opportunities to students, staff and members of the public for getting involved in sport. He/she works daily with the staff at Warwick Sport to deliver the smooth running of the organisation.

The Undergraduate Arts Faculty Representative is the primary representative for all undergraduate arts students and works closely with the Education Officer. They have a position on the Arts Faculty board and work very closely with all the top arty heads in the university. They also attend as many of the Arts Faculty Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) meetings as possible and feed this information to the Academic Forum, Union Council and the Arts Faculty Board. So if you like student representation, free sandwiches and care about academic issues, being a faculty rep is for you!

Women's Officer

The Womens' Campaigns Officer run campaigns relating to womens' issues, for example, breast cancer awareness, security on campus, womens' health etc.  The focus is mainly, but not exclusively, on issues relating to women on campus, or women as students.

Sometimes it can be a little thing, like sitting on a stall selling ribbons for breast cancer awareness, and sometimes it’s big things, like International Women’s Week.  It’s good fun, though, and there’s always plenty of support for whatever you want to do. The Women’s Campaigns Officer is also encouraged to make use of the resources available through the NUS Women’s Campaign and liaise with other campaigners nationally.

All Campaigns Officers work quite closely together as they all sit on the Campaigns Forum and Union Council.

The Students with Disabilities Campaigns Officer runs campaigns that relate to students with disabilities on campus, such as improving disabled access to university buildings, breaking down the stigma attached to being disabled and campaigning for access to safe sex materials be made better for disabled students. The Students with Disabilities Campaigns Officer is also encouraged to make use of the resources available through the NUS Disabled Students Campaign and liaise with other campaigners nationally.
