General
Meetings
.
General Meetings are big,
town-hall style democratic meetings where any Warwick student may
attend and vote on the issues. General Meetings require 200
students to attend for their decisions to be binding. They have the
power to:
- hold Union Officers to account by questioning them, censuring
them or removing them from office
- debate, amend and vote on Union
Policy
There is one Annual General Meeting a year, and then further Emergency General Meetings if felt necessary. To call an Emergency General Meeting you need to collect 150 signatures and submit them to the President.
Minutes and agendas
for past and future meetings can be found
here.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) receives reports
from various committees and is asked to approve the Union's annual
report, accounts and auditors.
It is important to remember that any Warwick student can propose
a motion to a General Meeting, for more information see our
page
on Union Policy.
