Democratic Services
The Democratic Services Office main function is to support the democratic and student representative structures of the Union. We are the ‘civil servants’ that help the elected Union Officers keep the Union’s Democratic Structures ticking over. This encompasses a large and diverse variety of functions including (but not limited to):
- Helping elected officers to effectively represent union members
- Working towards effective representation at all levels
- Support for elections & referenda
- Servicing all democratic meetings
- Advice on relevant areas of interest to the Union
- Providing information on Union Policy (past & present), procedures, Higher Education and University developments
- Democratic Timeline (what’s happening and when)
- Providing guidance on resources and facilitating activities
- Coordination of the Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) Network at Warwick
