Warwick SU took nearly 300 students to the National Demo where 50,000 from across the country marched against a trebling of tuition fees and savage cuts that will cause huge damage to our education system. A big thanks to all of you who came and made your voice heard.
Unfortunately the media chose to concentrate on what happened at Millbank rather than what was a hugely successful march with 30,000 more students than expected turning up.
Nevertheless the demo has greatly increased the pressure on the Government and it has had to defend itself in parliament, the media and in MPs’ constituencies up and down the country as voters start to realise what we already know; That the higher fees and cuts will be deeply damaging to Universities, students, and access to Higher Education.
