Working in the UK After Your Studies – (Non EEA International Students)

Once you have completed your studies, you may be able to apply to remain in the UK for employment. There are a few schemes available under the Point Based System. Please note the following:

• You must have successfully completed your course (UK bachelor degree or higher)
• If you are applying in the UK, you must apply before your current leave to remain in the UK as a student expires
• If you are funded under a government or international scholarship, you will need to obtain a permission/consent from your sponsor
• Your dependents would be able to apply with you. Children must be under 18 years of age.

Tier 1 (Post-Study Work)

This scheme is no longer available to students. If you already have obtained leave under this scheme, your dependants can still apply to join in the UK.

Current Tier 1 categories are:

• Graduate Entrepreneur
• Exceptional Talent
• Investor
• Entrepreneur

Tier 2

This scheme is available to students who have already been offered an employment after completing successfully completing their studies. Please refer to the UK Border Agency website for further information and details.

Applications under Tier 2 include the following:

• Tier 2 (General)
• Intra-company transfers (Multi-national companies outside the UK with UK Branch)
• Sportsperson
• Minister of Religion
