Unless you live off-campus, and have been asked to renew your contract by the end of term,
then you do not need to and should not be looking for a house, or even thinking about housemates
until next term. If you do live off-campus, and have been asked to renew your contract by the end of term

  • 3400 first years
  • 6000 off-campus rooms available to them
  • Rent Around £10,000's
  • Take your time
4th January Housing Guide
released

6th January Housing Day, Union South
No need to look till the second term.

We Recommend:

Term 2, Week 1-4 Decide who to live with
Term 2, Week 3-6 Look for ACCREDITED housing and get advice
End of term 2 You will have found your house

.

WAIT TILL TERM 2!

Why shouldn't I look early for housing?:
  • You won't be able to receive all the advice you need.
  • You will not have time to learn about the type of housing you need to look for (e.g. Council accredited)
  • Most estate agents bring out their housing in term 2, so you will have less choice of housing.
  • Estate agents release their crap houses first, as they want to get rid of them. The good ones come later.

You will end up living with people you only met a few weeks ago. Take longer to decide who you want to live with for an entire year.
